What you get

Special Drainage Domestic 24/7 in London: what the price includes

  • 01
    Inside and outside the house

Kitchen and bathroom wastes, soil stacks, outside gullies, downpipe connections and the run to the boundary, all handled by the same engineer on the same visit.

  • 02
    Flats and shared drainage

Converted flats stack modern bathrooms onto Victorian waste stacks that were never sized for them. We work out whether the blockage is yours, the freeholder's or the water company's before anyone pays for it.

  • 03
    No caustic chemicals

Drain crystals poured into standing water leave a hot caustic pond that the next person has to work through, and most firms surcharge for it. We clear mechanically or with water.

  • 04
    Recurring blockages ended

A drain that blocks every few months has a defect, not a habit. A camera survey finds it, and usually costs less than the third clearance would have.

  • 05
    Left clean

Gullies rinsed, covers reseated, and the mess taken with us. It is your home, not a job site.

What this means in London

Local conditions we work around

Most of London still drains through Victorian infrastructure, much of it combined sewers carrying foul and surface water in the same pipe. Two consequences follow. Heavy rain can surcharge the system and push water back up through the lowest gully in a property, which is why some basements flood in a storm without any blockage at all. And the older clay runs beneath gardens and pavements have joints that tree roots find, so root intrusion is one of the most common things our cameras record.

Straight answers

Special Drainage Domestic 24/7 in London, your questions

My drain keeps blocking, why?
Recurring blockages in the same place mean a physical cause: fat and grease build-up, root intrusion at a clay joint, scale, or a dropped section holding water. Repeated clearing rents a solution; a £165 survey finds the one to own.
Is a blocked drain my responsibility or the water company's?
Inside your boundary it is yours. Beyond it, shared drains have generally been the water company's since 2011, which means their problem and their cost. We check where the blockage actually sits before quoting, and tell you honestly when it is not yours to pay for.
Can I try to clear it myself first?
For one slow sink, absolutely: a proper plunger, or taking the trap off and emptying it. If several fixtures back up together, or an outside gully is overflowing, stop, because every further flush adds to what has to come back out.
Do you work on weekends and at night?
Yes, at the same price. Sewage backing up on a Sunday is not a Monday problem.
What about drains under an extension or a driveway?
We locate them with the camera and a sonde before anything is lifted, so any access is cut in the right place and reinstated properly. Lining often avoids digging altogether.
Is London drainage different?
Much of it is Victorian, and a great deal of it is combined, foul and surface water in the same pipe. Two things follow: heavy rain can surcharge the system and push water back up the lowest gully in a property with no blockage present at all, and the old clay runs under gardens and pavements have joints that tree roots find. Root intrusion is one of the most common things our cameras record here.
