How do I know my system needs one?

There is no call-out charge. It is £110 for the first hour, then £45 for each additional half hour, plus the cost of parts, and the same at any hour of the day or night.
Is it worth it on an old system?
Mostly yes, but a system with existing pinhole leaks can have them unmasked by cleaning. We check radiator condition first and warn you if yours is the rare case where a flush is the wrong money.
How do I know if I need one?
Cold spots at the bottom of radiators, water that runs black when you bleed them, a boiler that kettles, or noisy pipework. If your bleed water is clear and the radiators heat evenly, you do not need one and we will say so.
Is it worth it before a new boiler?
Yes, and most manufacturers require the system to be cleaned for the warranty to stand. Fitting a new boiler onto a dirty system pushes years of accumulated sludge straight through a brand new heat exchanger.
Will it make my old radiators leak?
It can reveal a pinhole that corrosion had already created and sludge was temporarily plugging. That radiator was going to fail regardless. We check the condition of the system first and tell you if that is a realistic risk on yours.
