Gas Safe Registered Plumbers

Gas Safe registration is the only legal qualification to work on gas appliances in the UK, and it replaced CORGI in 2009. Our registration number is 932798. It takes about thirty seconds to check it, and we would rather you did.

How to check any gas engineer, including us

Go to gassaferegister.co.uk and search the business or the licence number. It shows who is registered, whether the registration is current, and, the part almost nobody checks, the specific appliance categories that engineer holds. A registered domestic boiler engineer is not thereby qualified for commercial catering, and the register says so.

The ID card is the real check

Every registered engineer carries a photo ID card with their own licence number, a start and expiry date, and their categories listed on the back. Ask for it on the doorstep and match it to the register entry. A genuine engineer expects this and is not remotely offended. Anyone who is, is telling you something.

Why the logo on a van means nothing

The Gas Safe logo can be printed by anybody. Registration attaches to individual engineers and businesses, not to signage, and unregistered fitters using the branding is a known and prosecuted problem. The register is the only thing that settles it, and it is free.

If you smell gas

Do not ring us first. Ring the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999, open the windows, turn the gas off at the meter if you can reach it safely, do not touch electrical switches, and get everyone out. They attend free, 24 hours a day, and they make it safe. We handle the repair afterwards.
