New hot water where you need it: under-sink and point-of-use heaters, electric multipoints and immersion cylinders.

Every hot water installation is sized to how you use water, fitted by our own engineers, and charged at the same hourly rate as everything else.

Water heater installation in London: what the price includes

  • Sized first. We look at where the hot water is needed, how much you use and what supply is already there, and agree the heater with you before fitting it.
  • The right type for the job. A small under-sink heater suits a cloakroom, office kitchen or annexe. An electric multipoint can feed a sink and a basin together. A cylinder with an immersion suits a home that needs a lot of hot water at once. We explain the choice in plain terms and fit what suits you, not what is easiest for us.
  • Electrics done properly, and no gas. We do not fit gas water heaters at all; a gas engineer handles those. Electric heaters need the right supply and a proper isolator, and we check that before quoting rather than finding out on the day.
  • Safety and scale built in. Hot water is set hot enough to be safe from bacteria, with a mixing valve where scalding is a risk, such as a child’s bathroom. In hard-water London, we talk you through scale protection so the new heater lasts.

Local conditions we work around

Hard water is the defining fact for London heating. At 280 to 320 ppm, scale builds on the hottest surface in the system, which is the boiler heat exchanger, and every millimetre of it costs efficiency and shortens the life of the unit. It is why a system should be flushed before a new boiler is commissioned, why we fit a scale reducer on the mains where the system warrants it, and why an unvented cylinder in London needs its annual service rather more than the manual implies.

Questions people ask

How much does water heater installation cost?

It is charged by time at £99 for the first hour and £49 for each extra half hour, plus the heater and any parts. How long it takes depends on the type of heater and what supply is already in place.

Can you install hot water where there is none now?

Usually, yes. A garden office, loft room or annexe can often have its own small water heater. We check the water and power supply and the waste first.

Do you remove the old water heater?

Yes. We disconnect it safely, drain it and take it away as part of the job.

My water heater has stopped working. Do I need a new one?

Not always. Many faults are a cheap part, such as an element or a thermostat. See our water heater repair page first, and we will tell you honestly if replacing makes more sense.
