One rate.
Whatever the hour.
3am on a bank holiday costs exactly the same as Tuesday lunchtime. No call-out fee. The price is agreed in writing before work starts, and it doesn't move.

The rate card is identical in both cities, £110 first hour, £45 per additional half hour, no call-out fee, no night or weekend surcharge. What differs is the work London actually generates, and the access costs nobody else puts in writing.
The jobs London produces most
Scale-related failures dominate: boilers locking out on a furred heat exchanger, seized stopcocks, shower cartridges that have closed up, and cylinders that no longer recover. Then leaks in Victorian and Edwardian pipework that has been extended and re-extended. A scaled-boiler diagnosis and reset typically lands within the first hour; a burst in accessible pipework runs £150 to £280 including the repair.
Flats, freeholders and communal risers
A large share of London callouts are flats in conversions or mansion blocks, where the leak is yours but the stopcock is the freeholder's and the damage is downstairs. That does not change our price, but it changes the visit: we isolate what we can reach, document what we cannot, and give you the written report the managing agent and both insurers will ask for.
Congestion charge, ULEZ and parking
We absorb these. London callouts do not carry a congestion charge line, a ULEZ line or a parking surcharge, and a suspended bay is our cost, not yours. It is worth asking any other firm the same question before they set off, because it is a common addition at the invoice stage rather than the quote stage.
What a hard-water city costs over time
The genuinely useful number in London is not the callout, it is the recurrence. A boiler that kettles will lock out again. A cylinder that has scaled will not recover. Where a fault is scale-driven we quote the callout and, separately, what it would cost to stop it happening again, a flush, a scale reducer, a softener on the main, so you can decide with both figures rather than one.
Response and depots
Engineers run from our London depots and the current average across the capital is around 52 minutes, with each area page carrying its own measured figure. Distance does not change the price: a Watford callout is priced exactly as a Fulham one.
