What this covers in London

Boilers, radiators, cylinders and the pipework between them. Everything here is done by Gas Safe registered engineers, quoted as a fixed price, and, for boiler installations, registered with building control and the manufacturer so your warranty actually stands when you need it.

Questions we get asked
Do I need a new boiler or can mine be repaired?
Our rule of thumb: if the repair costs more than half a replacement and the unit is over ten years old, replacement usually wins. Below that, repair. We give you both figures and let you decide rather than steering you towards the larger invoice.
Is an annual service really necessary?
For the warranty, almost certainly, nearly every manufacturer requires it recorded in the benchmark book, and a missed year is the most common reason a claim is refused. It is also what catches a failing component before it becomes a January breakdown.
How long does a boiler installation take?
A straight swap in the same position is usually a single day. Moving the boiler, converting from a cylinder system to a combi, or adding a filter and a system flush takes two. You get the dates in writing before we start.
Will you register the work?
Yes. Gas work is notified to building control through Gas Safe, boiler installations are registered with the manufacturer for the warranty, and unvented cylinder work is notified under Part G. You get the certificates, and they matter when you sell.
What this means in London

Local conditions we work around

Hard water is the defining fact for London heating. At 280 to 320 ppm, scale builds on the hottest surface in the system, which is the boiler heat exchanger, and every millimetre of it costs efficiency and shortens the life of the unit. It is why we flush before commissioning a new boiler, why we fit a scale reducer on the mains where the system warrants it, and why an unvented cylinder in London needs its annual service rather more than the manual implies.
